I was so inspired by this bugler that I felt that I had to paint him. I could hardly wait to get to the Studio to start this piece. Often, my paintings seem to evolve. I really was not sure what I wanted to do in this painting, but started with the young boy and just let the story unfold. My original concept was so different, but this painting seemed to have a life of it's own and soon the direction it needed to take was clear.
